Our story

Cape Cod Cranola started in our home kitchen with a simple goal: to create granola that’s not just delicious but also nourishing and sustainable. Inspired by the natural beauty of Cape Cod, we’ve combined the region’s iconic cranberries with organic, nutrient-rich ingredients to craft granola that’s a treat for your taste buds and your health.

We are Karen & Susie, childhood friends since grammar school. As kids, we spent summers on the Cape and now choose to call this little slice of heaven home year round. Our story started with a last minute idea – homemade granola with local cranberries for Christmas gifts. Five months later, welcome Cape Cod Cranola LLC!

We love the Cape – the people, nature and the local industries. Cranberry bogs using the traditional methods are becoming a thing of the past due in part to cheaper methods of production off-Cape and the fact that farm life for many young generations has become less appealing. Most cranberries are now produced in Canada or Wisconsin and use modern methods far from tradition.

When we started this endeavor, we vowed to only source our berries from Cape Cod. It’s a more difficult process – we dehydrate the berries ourselves and keep all production local and homemade – but it’s essential. Our berries come from a #GAPCertified #IPMFarm that has been running for multiple generations. #FunFact In 1843, in the north village of Dennis on Scargo Lake, Eli Howes and James Paine Howes developed the Howes variety cranberry, which are the berries we use in our Cranola.

5% of the profits go to the Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC), an organization doing great things for the Cape Codcommunity.

We believe in doing things the right way—prioritizing quality, sustainability, and community.
